Crumb
AR Poster - Typography 3
Overview
Crumb is an American psychedelic rock band. The group is a collaboration of Brooklyn-based musicians Lila Ramani, Jesse Brotter, Bri Aronow, and Jonathan Gilad, who met while attending Tufts University.
I am a massive fan of Crumb, so when I was told I could make a poster for anything, I jumped at the opportunity. I wanted to create a tour poster that moved to their music because this poster would be viewed in augmented reality (AR) using a program called Artivive. The video to the left demonstrates how the poster was viewed using a device.

Planning
The song I chose to design to had a lot of ups and downs so I wanted to design something that felt that way too. After studying Artivive I knew instantly that I wanted to break the bounds of the poster. I added many clouds in the foreground and middle ground to float outside the edges and fly up when the song intensifies. I planned out the timing so that it would loop back around to the poster trigger which worked very well. I love the way it turned out and I think the wiggly, grainy aesthetic fit Crumb's style well.
